Only a few days are left before Big Bang’s G-Dragon sails away to serve mandatory time in the military. CL, former 2NE1 lead rapper and fellow YG Entertainment label mate, sent a goodbye message to him through Instagram. She expressed that she is not goin

Chart-topping South Korean rapper, singer-songwriter, and fashion icon G-Dragon elicited lots of sentimental reactions from fans when former 2NE1 lead rapper CL posted their photo on Instagram. CL mentioned G-Dragon's enlistment in the military in late February, prompting fellow artists and fans to express that they will sorely miss him.

Another G-Dragon member Taeyang is also set to enlist as an active-duty soldier in March. During their successful 10th anniversary concert at the Seoul World Cup Stadium last year, he thanked those in the audience for contributing to the band's success, to date.

During the same occasion, Taeyang mentioned planning their next 10 years with fans, but it looks like that will be momentarily shelved. As members of the Korean all-male band Big Bang, G-Dragon, and Taeyang have sent many hearts a-fluttering.

Big Bang has broken records for high concert ticket sales in different countries and is noted for its experimental use of music genres. YG Entertainment, the band's agency, has witnessed how the band's loyal fans have lovingly and steadfastly supported the male members for years, always packing the K-pop group's concerts in Korea and across the world.

CL's social media goodbye message, that also stated that she is not going to visit in Korean, tugged at many people's heartstrings, Soompi reported. It generated a long trail of comments and emoticons that conveyed so much love for G-Dragon.

Just like a typical Big Bang concert that has pyrotechnics, confetti, and playing off on cuteness, the post created a stir. Not so long ago, G-Dragon somewhat satisfied some fans' curiosity when he responded to their queries about his relationship with CL, now a solo artist. G-Dragon said that CL just so happened to be his closest and most annoying yeo-dongsaeng, which means little sister, SBS reported.

Big Bang has popularized songs like "Haru Haru," "Good Boy," and "Bang Bang Bang." The innovative quintet is known for mining Western-born genres like rap and EDM and flipping them into leaner, cleaner, and shinier versions. With the two artists taking some time off to serve mandatory time in the military, South Korea's well-loved boy band has had fans speculating how the splinter will affect it as a unit, even as the magic lingers on.
