Samsung Galaxy A8+ (2018) Leaked Images Reveals Infinity Display And More

A leakster on Chinese microblogging site Weibo had recently claimed that the next-generation Galaxy A-series smartphones will launch with a tweaked naming scheme. It looks like the leakster was actually spot on with the info, as an alleged live image has confirmed that the Galaxy A7 (2018) will carry the Galaxy A8+ (2018) moniker.

The SM-730 model number seen in the leaked image confirms that the captured device is indeed the successor to the current Galaxy A7 (2017). The change seems justified - the new phone has what appears to be a tall display, Infinity display as Samsung likes to call it, as reported by GSM Arena.

As previous leaks revealed, the Galaxy A8+ (2018) will feature an Infinity Display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and 1080 x 2160 Full HD+ resolutions. The smartphone will be powered by a Samsung Exynos 7885 octa-core chipset, paired with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Moreover, the Galaxy A8+ (2018) will be having the dual selfie cameras and it could be the first Samsung smartphone with a dual-camera setup on the front, as reported by My Smart Price.

Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) is rumored to be almost identical to the Galaxy A8+ (2018) in terms of the core hardware specs. The main difference between the two smartphones will be the display size. While the Galaxy A8 (2018) is rumored to feature a 5.5-inch sized Infinity Display, the Galaxy A8+ is expected to sport a bigger Infinity Display measuring somewhere around 6-inches diagonally. Both smartphones will also come with the Always-on Display feature, Samsung Pay support, IP68 certification for dust and water resistance, USB Type-C port, and expandable storage. In terms of software, they could ship with Android 7.1 Nougat OS out of the box, with the Oreo update arriving at a later date.
