Samsung Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9+ To Release At CES 2018 In Las Vegas, Says Report

Samsung fans might get a sneak peek at the upcoming Galaxy S9 and S9+ earlier than expected. As per the latest report, the pair of flagship phones is rumored to make an appearance at CES 2018, at Las Vegas. 

According to famous leakster Evan Blass of Venture Beat, Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 + will be unveiled in January 2018 at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.  However, the official launch event from Samsung will be taking place in the month of March 2018. According to the report, Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ will be unveiled ahead of the timeline, unlike the Galaxy S8 which launched in March.

The reports also mentioned that the new Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ will be a "tock" handset for 2018 that means there will not be a major design upgrade. Just similar to the last year's Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus, both the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus will have a 5.8-inch and a 6.2-inch Infinity display with 18:9 aspect ratio. The metal glass design will also be there on both the phones.

Under the hood, Samsung Galaxy S9 series will carry the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor in the US, while the international variant will be powered by the Exynos 9810 processor from Samsung itself. The recent GeekBench scores for Galaxy S9's international variant revealed that the devices will coming running on Android Oreo and will have 4GB RAM.

The report also claims that Samsung will get rid of the headphone jack and the bigger Galaxy S9+ will have 6GB RAM on board.  As far as the camera is concern, the device is rumored to have a dual rear camera and both versions will come with 64GB internal storage, as noted by CNET.

Samsung has reportedly started manufacturing Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+, so we should see the handsets on time at rumored CES 2018. According to leaks, the model number for Galaxy S9 is SM-960 and SM-965.
