Taylor Swift Drops Teaser for ‘Ready for It’ Music Video
Taylor Swift recently updated her Instagram account and gave her fans a teaser of her new music video for "Ready for It?". The song was released on September 3, and the video will be shown to the public on October 26 or Thursday night.
Swift uploaded three videos on Instagram on October 23, which gave fans a glimpse of the video's cinematic sci-fi takes on the second song under the "Reputation" album. In the first video, Swift can be seen covered by a black cloak, then transforms into a supernatural being in a nude cyborg suit, fighting mysterious creatures. According to Billboard, the amazing visuals are similar to classics like "The Fifth Element" or "Ghost in the Shell". As a result, the concept gave another meaning to the song.
"Ready for It" includes the following lyrics: I-I-I see how this is gon' go/ Touch me and you'll never be alone/ I- Island breeze and lights down low/ No one has to know/ In the middle of the night, in my dreams/ You should see the things we do, baby/ In the middle of the night, in my dreams/ I know I'm gonna be with you/ So take my time/ Are you ready for it?".
According to E! Online, Swift wrote the song with Max Martin, Shellback, and Ali Payami. It also followed "Look What You Made Me Do", the lead single in the "Reputation" album that already broke four records including Most Lyric Video Views in Its First Day, Most Spotify Streams in Its First Day, Most Video Views in Its First 24 Hours, and Her Biggest YouTube Debut. Additionally, "Ready for It" debuted at No.4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Fans also made theories about the song's connection to Swift's current boyfriend, Joe Alwyn, or ex-boyfriend, Harry Styles. However, the singer has not commented on it.
Furthermore, Swift recently released the third song from "Reputation", "Gorgeous" last Friday midnight. Meanwhile, watch its lyric video below.
