Chicago P.D. Season 5

Five months after her controversial departure, Sophia Bush finally reveals why she walked away from "Chicago P.D." season 5. Meanwhile, episode 5 continues as the squad squared off with child smuggling syndicate.  Will the circumstances in the next episode compel the squad to seek justice unlawfully?

Sophia Bush finally discloses why she left "Chicago P.D." season 5. Her reason has been divulged in an Instagram post. She retorts back at one remark that speculates that she was "cut off" from the show. The actress, who played Erin Lindsay, writes that she left the show because she wanted to. "Took me a long time and lot of hard work to get out of that show. Please don't demean my capabilities by degrading my position. I left because I wanted to. End of story," her comment goes as first reported by Deadline.

Speculations surrounding her departure from "Chicago P.D." season 5 never ceases despite an official announcement from 20th Century Fox that Sophia Bush has signed a contract with them. This has been announced early in October and was reported by The Hollywood Reporter. The contract involves Sophia Bush starring in an upcoming comedy or drama. She is also tapped to develop projects for the company in the capacity of the executive producer.

Meanwhile, in "Chicago P.D." season 5 episode 5, Intel dispatches them to shut down a meth lab run by gang leader Marshall Carter (guest star Aaron Roman). They, however, discover a more chilling crime perpetrated by Carter and his group. The syndicate's main financial source as it turns out is re-homing scam in which children adopted from foreign countries are abandoned and then being sold online. At one point, when Voight (Jason Beghe) catches Carter, he aims his gun at him, with a plan of killing him right there and then.

As Carter's twisted deed unfolds in "Chicago P.D." season 5 episode 5, Atwater (LaRoyce Hawkins) is faced with the predicament on whether he should transfer his siblings Jordan (guest star Kylen Davis) and Vinessa (guest star Bobbi MacKenzie) to a much safer place, which is far away from Chicago. The episode is starring Jason Beghe, Jon Seda, Jesse Lee Soffer, Patrick John Flueger, Elias Koteas, Marina Squerciati, Amy Morton and Tracy Spiridakos. Other guest stars are Ethan Nguyen and Patrick Thompson.
