Ralphie May Says Goodbye To The World At 45

Ralphie May, the American stand-up comedian was reported dead on 6th October. The comedian was suffering from pneumonia over the last week and died due to cardiac arrest. In spite of his bad health, he continued performing for his scheduled projects.

As USA Today writes, his body was found at his private residence in Las Vegas on Friday. Ralphie became a household name after he finished second on "Last Comic Standing" in the year 2003. After that, May was seen in many shows like "The Wayne Brady Show" and "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno". He also had his comedy album named "Just Correct".

May suffered from obesity throughout his life. His weight increased to 800 pounds following a car accident at age 16.He also participated on VH1's "Celebrity Fit Club". In 2004, the comedian underwent a gastric bypass surgery which brought his weight down to 350 pounds (160 kg).

Two days before Ralphie was presented the 'Casino Comedian of the Year' award at the Global Gaming Expo. Talking to TMZ, Judi Marmel said, "We will miss his laugh. He was always generous towards his fellow comedian. He left us too soon -- and we can only wonder where his comedy might have taken all of us. We send our love to his family, his fans, and all the comics who shared stages with him across the country." Judi Marmel is the manager of Ralphie May.

Ralphie married Lahna Turner, who is also a comedian, in 2003, but filed for divorce in 2015. Ralphie emotionally broke by this split and the ensuing custody battle over their 2 kids, April June May and August James May.

Fans from all over the world are expressing their grief on the social media. Many of the May's comic contemporaries also took Twitter to pay their condolence for him.
