'Mean Girls' Urge Fans To Participate In 'GoFundMe' Campaign
October 3 is celebrated among the "Mean Girls" fans as a special day. It is the day when Aaron Samuels (Jonathan Bennett) asked Cady Heron (Lindsay Lohan) what day it was, after all, and Cady replied, "It's October 3rd".
Since then the fans all around the world take on this day to celebrate the popular high school film of 2004 on social media with GIFs, memes, quotes, and memories. Unlike any another "Mean Girls Day," this one is a little special as the stars of the famous American comedy have a message for all their fans.
To help the victims of Las Vegas Mean Girl cast- Amanda Seyfried, Lacey Chabert, Daniel Franzese and Jonathan Bennett have come up with a video. In a 1-minute video, the stars urge fans to donate $3 to a GoFundMe campaign. The main idea is to raise money for the victims and provide them all the possible assistance. While requesting to celebrate 3rd October in a different way, stars also thank fans for making an ordinary day and movie so special.
Throughout the video, the cast members say, "Today is a special day. And it is because of fans like YOU. It's October 3rd. This year, though, we're doing things a little differently. We want to turn the attention to those who really need it. After Sunday's tragic events in Las Vegas, let's give back. In honor of "Mean Girls" Day, we're asking each of you, the groolest fans out there, to help. We've started a 'GoFundMe' page and a hundred perfect of the proceeds will go to the National Compassion Fund. If every fan gave just $3 in honor of Oct. 3, just $3, we would hit our goal of $300,000 in no time."
As International Business Times quotes, this is the only campaign that has been taken up by any celebrity in response to Las Vegas shooting. Although Hollywood stars sent out their prayers to the victims on Twitter.
