Vikings Season 5

"Vikings" Season 5 will go even further to explore and pillage new lands. Ahead of its premiere on History, the network has released new teasers that give a peek into the conquests of the fan-favorite Northsmen including Ivar the Boneless (Alex Hogh Anderson), Bjorn Ironside (Alexander Ludwig), Floki (Gustaf Skarsgard) and Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick).

The upcoming season of the critically-acclaimed period drama will be packed with action. Aside from the usual pillaging, there is a power-struggle within Kattegat as Ivar plots to unseat Lagertha. Ragnar Lothbrok's (Travis Fimmel) youngest born also wants to exact revenge for the death of his mother, the former Queen Aslaug (Alyssa Sutherland).

In England, there is also a massive war waiting for the Vikings. A new character that goes by the name Bishop Heahmund (Jonathan Rhys Meyer) is preparing to annihilate all the pagans in the name of his god.

Below is a short look into the battles that are waiting to be fought in "Vikings" Season 5 (first revealed by IGN). There will be blood, there will be tears and, most of all, there will be death.

Meanwhile, Floki goes on a solo adventure after losing his wife Helga (Maude Hirst) in the last battle in England. He lands on a mysterious new island which many suspects is Iceland.

In the unknown territory, the talented boat builder finds a waterfall and, out of the mist, a figure seems to appear in front of him. International Business Times speculates that the figure could be Loki, the Norse god of mischief.

According to the site, the twin horns are unmistakable. In addition, Floki believes himself to be a descendant of Loki so it would not come as a surprise if in his darkest hour, it is the Trickster God that appears in front of him.

Elsewhere, Bjorn Ironside is making a mark in history as he travels to the Mediterranean just like what he has always wanted to do. Previous photos already showed the character on a camel as he traverses the desert.

"Vikings" Season 5 will premiere on Nov. 29 with a two-hour episode. A sixth season has already been announced.
