Acting alongside a world-famous pop star was not easy for Kim Jun Kyung. In the press conference for the upcoming drama "Andante," the newcomer reveals her reaction upon meeting her co-star Kai of EXO and her off-camera relationship with the Kpop Idol.

The upcoming drama will center around Shih Kyung, a high school student played by Kai. The story begins when the young man moves to the countryside and enrolls in a mysterious high school where he will learn the meaning of life and love.

Meanwhile, Kim will play Kim Bon. This is the actor's first drama and leading role.

Aside from feeling intimidated as an industry newcomer, the 20-year-old also has to star alongside a major celebrity in Korea. That is why Kim admitted that she was a little nervous filming "Adante."

"The image of EXO's Kai was huge," she explained (via AllKPop). However, as she spends more time with the singer, she started to feel a little more at ease with his company. "[B]ut he was very human when I actually met him."

It also helped that Kai was a total goofball on set. In fact, Kim revealed that the boy band member made her laugh whenever she feels nervous.

Moreover, the atmosphere on-set helped bring them closer together. Despite feeling a little awkward at first, Kim and Kai eventually had a friendly relationship that helps give them a good mood to film their scenes together.

"Andante" is also Kai's first starring role in a drama. Despite not having an extensive acting experience, the crew of the upcoming drama is all praises for the singer.

Soompi recounted that, instead of rushing his scenes to escape the cold weather, Kai made an effort to perfect his performance. One crew member thanked the new actor for being professional despite his celebrity status and a role model for his colleagues.

"Andante" will premiere on Sept. 24 on KBS1. It will air every Sunday at 10:00 KST.
