"The King Loves" (also "The King In Love") has ended its successful television run this week. Eun San (YoonA) has made her choice between Wang Won (Si Wan) and Wang Rin (Hong Jong Hyun). Meanwhile, the kingdom of Goryeo is, once again, at peace.

Now that the top-rated historical drama is over, what is next for its stellar cast? For YoonA, the Girls' Generation member wants to star in a simple romantic comedy.

"My fans like me to play bright characters," she told Yonhap News. "I have recently changed my hair to a bob. So I am in the mood to try a romantic comedy for my next project."

Despite its light and funny moments, "The King Loves" dealt with rather serious themes. The finale that aired earlier this week delivered an emotional ending (and a stellar 7.6% rating nationwide as per TNS Media Korea).

YoonA has been acting for a decade now and even starred in memorable dramas such as "Prime Minister & I" and "Cinderella Man." However, she believes that she still has a lot to learn in the industry.

She added that, despite her experience, she continues to discover new things about acting and she hopes to continue discovering more as she portrays different women on-screen. She also mentioned that she considers her first movie "Confidential Assignment," that also stars Hyun Bin ("Secret Garden," "My Name Is Kim Sam-Soon"), as a turning point in her career.

YoonA also thanked fans for tuning into "The King Loves" week after week for two months. On Instagram, the actor-performer posted behind-the-scenes photos and videos from the set of the period drama.

"Thank you to those who loved 'The King Loves,'" she wrote in one post (via Soompi). "Goodbye Won San Lin, Good job, San." She also praised the cast and crew for a job well-done.

"The King Loves" ran from July to September. Next week, it will be replaced by "20th Century Boy & Girl" which will air every Monday and Tuesday, 22:00 KST, on MBC.
