Syfy has canceled "Dark Matter," but fans are still hoping to see the epic space drama continue its story on the small screen. Following the announcement that the Raza crew will not return for another adventure, people have been making noises on social media to let networks know that they want to see Season 4 happen.

Recently, show creator Joseph Mallozzi revealed that things are starting to look up for "Dark Matter." While the sci-fi series still has not found a new network to air its fourth season, he assured that thanks to the overwhelming fan love, he has received a positive response from potential new partners.

"We can do this! In fact, we ARE doing it. All that online passion - the tweets, retweets, tagging and hashtagging - is having an effect," he wrote on his personal blog. "It's impressing some, concerning others, but surprising all. It's thanks to you that we are where we are with three potential new partners in deep discussion."

On Sept. 1, Syfy announced that "Dark Matter" will not return for Season 4. The decision came as a shock because the space drama has consistently been one of the network's highly-rated scripted series.

Since then, there have been numerous online campaigns to find the space drama a new home on Netflix or other networks. Last Friday's Twitter campaign accumulated over 120,000 tweets and was able to trend the hashtag of the week #RocktheRaza. Mallozzi along with the cast and crew participated in the event.

A Change.org petition addressed to Netflix, Amazon and other television networks to save the series has also crossed 40,000 supporters. As of this writing, it only needs 9,235 signatures to reach its goal.

"Dark Matter" is about six people who woke up aboard a spaceship without knowledge of who they are nor how they got there. The series was based on a comic book by Mallozzi and Paul Mullie. It premiered on Syfy in 2015 and ended its third season earlier this year.
