The Defenders

Elodie Yung was introduced as the martial arts expert/assassin Elektra Natchios in "Daredevil" Season 2. In "The Defenders," she fulfilled her destiny as Black Sky, a weapon of the ancient criminal organization called The Hand. After battling his college sweetheart, Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), what is next for the character?

After a long cat-and-mouse chase, Elektra and Matt finally kiss and make-up in the finale of "The Defenders" as an entire building collapse on top of them. Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Iron Fist (Finn Jones) presume that the two were dead. However, unbeknownst to the rest of New York City, the Devil of Hell's Kitchen was saved and was brought to the safety.

While there was no mention of her, the fact that Daredevil survived means that Elektra is also probably alive, too. Despite the completion of the Black Sky story arc in "The Defenders," Yung thinks that the character still has plenty of story to tell.

"I really like Elektra," the actor tells Comicbook.com. "It just feels unfinished. She's done all of that, and now what? Where is she?"

She also pointed out that Matt is alive and, therefore, her character must have escaped the building, too. What Yung hopes to see in the future if ever she returns in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is perhaps a more normal life.

"I want to know where she lives and what she does and if she's enjoying life and all of that," Yung adds. Unfortunately, she cannot confirm whether she will be back in the Marvel-Netflix universe because she does not know what the studio has planned for her character beyond "The Defenders."

Perhaps, Yung can once again play the role of Elektra in "Daredevil" Season 3. The solo superhero series is set to resume filming later this year and, according to rumors will adapt Frank Miller's "Born Again."

In the meantime, catch Yung as Elektra/Black Sky in "The Defenders" on Netflix. The series also stars Deborah Ann Woll, Jessica Henwick, Rosario Dawson, Scott Glenn and Sigourney Weaver.
