'Orange is the New Black' Season 6: What To Expect According To Star Adrienne C. Moore
Things will never be the same on "Orange is the New Black." In Season 6, the prison drama-comedy is getting an "amazing facelift," according to star Adrienne C. Moore (Cindy).
The comment does not come as a surprise because last season's finale ended with the inmates getting sent off to separate prisons. Meanwhile, the core cast that includes Piper (Taylor Schilling), Alex (Laura Prepon), Suzanne (Uzo Aduba ), Taystee (Danielle Brooks), Red (Kate Mulgrew) and Moore's Cindy remain inside their hiding place, waiting for their fates.
Whether they will survive to see another season remain to be seen. But Moore also warns that "Orange is the New Black" Season 6 will also see the repercussions of the decisions that each character made during the three-day stand-off.
While Taystee and friends demanded justice for Poussey (Samira Wiley), the rest of the prisoners were not on the same page. Some used the absence of authority to cause even more trouble while others opted to separate from the chaos.
"Toward the end of Season 5, there were some people that were agreeing to stick together, and there were some people that were looking out for themselves," Moore tells The Hollywood Reporter. "We'll see the repercussions of those actions in this next season."
The actor did not reveal much about the future of the inmates of "Orange is the New Black," but her statement sounds rather ominous. Could Moore be hinting at an increased prison sentence for Piper and the rest of the inmates? Or, should fans expect more major deaths in Season 6?
Considering that the show has been renewed up to Season 7, show creator Jenji Kohan likely would want to keep at least the main cast intact. In a previous interview (via Bustle), the screenwriter revealed that the critically-acclaimed comedy drama might only have two more seasons left. She did admit that she has not made a decision yet. "Orange is the New Black" Season 6 is expected to premiere in July 2018 on Netflix.
