Attack on Titan: Season 2 Titan's Tragic Story Confirmed

"Attack on Titan" is slowly uncovering the truth behind the existence of the Titans, creature whose main goal is to annihilate the human race. Season 2 of the anime series brought a lot of revelations but, four months after it premiered, fans are still discovering surprising new details about the man-eating creatures.[Warning: "Attack on Titan" Season 2 Spoilers Ahead.]

The first season of "Attack on Titan" revealed that not all Titans are unthinking killing machines. Some of them, like the protagonist Eren Yeager, are actually humans who have the capacity to turn into Titans. The second season, meanwhile, started to explore how these creatures are created. 

In fact, in Season 2 Episode 2, Connie Springer, a member of the Scout Regime, went home to find that his mother has been turned into a Titan. His neighbors, including his father, were nowhere to be found, but Reddit seems to have an idea what happened to them.  

As reported by Comicbook.com, a fan spotted some production artwork from SNK Season 2 Festa that confirms what happened to Connie's father. The photo posted on the site shows the same Titan that attacked and almost killed Connie's best friend, Sasha Braun. It turns out, the monster has some sort of significance to "Attack on Titan." The text on the art work (seen here) confirms that the Titan was Connie's father. 

This revelation dealt a devastating blow not only to Connie but to viewers as well. However, the character's tragic story help the group's researcher, Hange Zoe, prove her theory that Titans are humans, too. 

"Attack on Titan" Season 3 is expected to further explore the reason behind the existence of the Titans and how the human race will be able to defeat them. Unfortunately, the wait for all new episodes is going to be long because the next season will premiere in 2018.
