‘Descendants Of The Sun’ Star Kim Ji Won, ‘Mrs. Cop 2’ Star Kim Bum Star In Third ‘Detective K’ Film
On the small screen, Kim Ji Won starred in "Fight for My Way" after "Descendants of the Sun." On the big screen, she is set to make a comeback more than four years after her most recent film "Horror Stories 2," which was released in 2013.
In 2016, Kim played Yoon Myung Ju in "Descendants of the Sun." From May 22 to July 11, she played Choi Ae Ra in "Fight for My Way."
Also making a comeback on the big screen is Kim Bum. His last Korean film was "The Gifted Hands," which was released in 2013, then he starred in two Chinese movies namely "Lovers and Movies" and "The Beloved" in 2015.
Bum was last seen on the small screen in the "Mrs. Cop 2" in 2016. More than four years after "The Gifted Hands," he will star in another South Korean film.
Ji Won and Bum will star in the third installment of the comedy-mystery film series "Detective K." The latter will start filming in August, his agency Kingkong Entertainment said in a statement obtained by Korea Herald.
Based on Kim Tak Hwan's novel "The Banggakbon Murder Case," the story of the third "Detective K" film will revolve around the mission of Kim Min/Detective K (Kim Myung Min) and Han Seo Pil (Oh Dal Su) to chase a serial killer. It is set in the Joseon era during the reign of King Jeongjo.
Ji Won will play the lead female character in the third "Detective K" film. The character is a woman who loses her memory and joins Detective K and Han's investigation.
Meanwhile, Ji Won as one of the actresses included in the list of South Korean stars in female advertisement model brand reputation rankings for the month of July. She ranked number two next to gugudan member Kim Sejeong in the study conducted by the Korean Business Research Institute, Sports Donga reported.
Lee Si Young ranked number three. Suzy, Jun Ji Hyun, Kim Hee Sun, Kyungri of 9MUSES, Irene of Red Velvet, Kim Tae Hee and IU also made it to the top 10.
