Bixby Voice Update: Samsung’s Voice Assistant Now Available On Galaxy S8
Samsung's very own version of voice assistant is now officially available in the United States. Dubbed as Bixby Voice, the artificial intelligence technology can now be fully enjoyed on Samsung's newest Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus phones.
Bixby Voice was first launched together with Samsung's latest smartphones. Limited only to Vision, Home and Reminder, the initial functions of the voice-powered assistant could help users identify objects in photos, help track their day and remind them of upcoming events listed in their calendars.
Samsung chose to delay the release of voice capabilities of Bixby Voice to make it work smoothly for mainstream consumers, according to CNET. With the help of more than 100,000 Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus users, the tech giant was able to test out the improved Bixby Voice and with the help of the participants of Bixby's early access preview program, which generated over 4 million commands, it was able to develop the service's capabilities even further.
In addition to its initial functions, the improved digital voice assistant now boasts increased comprehension on command variations. Users can easily asked for the weather by saying "Show me the weather" or asking "What's the forecast today?"
The latest version of Bixby Voice also has faster response time and increased hands-free operations, Tech Crunch reported. Now, Samsung's digital voice assistant is capable of reading the latest e-mail of the user with its new Read Aloud feature.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus come with an extra button on its side. This serves as the designated button for the Bixby Voice, making it easy to interact with the artificial intelligence. The latest version of the Bixby Voice will become available to users after they finished downloading the new software update. Users in South Korea that have accessed with the Korean version of Bixby Voice since May 1 can now gain access to the English language capabilities of Bixby.
So far, the company has not yet released any released date of Bixby Voice in other countries. Watch a video about the service here:
