‘Fight For My Way’ Actor Park Seo Joon Feels Emotional Over Drama’s End, Reveals Dong Man Character Affected Him

"Fight For My Way" may have ended its 16-episode run on KBS, however, the drama's lovable protagonists will remain in the hearts of avid fans. Recently, Park Seo Joon conveyed his thoughts about his character Dong Man and shared his feelings over the drama's end.

For nearly two months, "Fight For My Way" entertained avid K-drama lovers with its storyline that conveyed the struggles of four friends as they explore love, go through heartbreak and reach for their dreams. In an announcement released by Park Seo Joon's agency, as obtained by Korean news outlet SE Daily, Content Y stated that the actor felt a little emotional and disappointed at having to say goodbye to his character Dong Man.

Portraying a former taekwondo athlete who gave up his dreams but later decided to pursue a career in mixed martial arts and even found love with his best friend Ae Ra (Kim Ji Won), Dong Man's struggles made the actor reflect on his life, according to Park Seo Joon. The "Hwarang" star also expressed his appreciation to the avid fans who watched "Fight For My Way."

Noting how the viewers have laughed over the drama's humorous scenes and agonized over its suspenseful parts, the actor conveyed his gratitude to the fans who supported the said KBS production. Despite the end of "Fight For My Way," Park Seo Joon promised to continue doing his best and working hard to make his fans happy.

Meanwhile, "Fight For My Way" writer Im Sang Choon recently revealed that the South Korean mixed martial arts fighter Choo Sung Hoon and his wife Yano Shiho's story served as his inspiration to create Park Seo Joon's character, Dong Man. In an interview with Yonhap News, the said writer shared that he became intrigued when he previously saw Yano Shino crying while watching her husband's fight. The said incident piqued his interest and he started researching mixed martial arts fighters and their respective families' stories.

"Fight For My Way" aired premiered in late May and released its final episode on July 11, Tuesday, on KBS. Watch a clip from the drama's finale below:
