"Banner Saga 2's" release date will be pushed back to the first quarter of next year, according to Gamespot.

The "Banner Saga" game is a strategy type of video game that is set in the Viking era. The game has been popular lately on Steam and many gamers have given praise to it. The sequel to the game which is titled "Banner Saga 2" is supposed to launch this year. It was announced during The Game Awards last year.

Versus Evil, the game publisher has formally announced that the game will be delayed until the first quarter of 2016. It will now miss the original release date which was supposed to be coming this year, according to PlayStationLifestyle.net. There was no reason given why it will be delayed.

"Banner Saga 2's development is progressing nicely," said Versus Evil. "Customers who have attended Gamescom and PAX have seen its progress. We will update everyone on its launch date when the timing is right."

There is also a board game being developed, but another studio is doing it, according to PC Gamer.

"The board game is being developed by MegaCon Games and in no way has affected our development on porting Banner Saga to consoles nor has it caused any delays in Banner Saga 2."

The development of the first game for the consoles is almost finished, according to sources. The reason for the delays is due to the game development and the studio is trying to perfect the console-specific controls to make the game perform as a console game. The studio does not want the game to be just a port.

Even though "Banner Saga 2" will be delayed, the original game will launch on the consoles on PS4, Xbox One, and PlayStation Vita this year.
