'One Punch Man' Season 2 Air Date, Spoilers: 2017 Release Unlikely For Season 2; Spring, Summer 2018 Air Date Eyed By Vizmedia?
While fans of "One Punch Man" are already anticipating that the second season of the hit anime will be released this year, it seems more likely that the wait could stretch on for summer or spring next year. Speculations are rife online that production will not complete the anime in time for a 2017 release after all.
Fans of "One Punch Man" were initially psyched when Vizmedia Senior Marketing Director Kevin Hamric confirmed in an interview that "One Punch Man" Season 2 will be among the titles that the studio will release this year. While there has been no concrete date revealed by the studio exec, fans were hopeful that Saitama will not make his fans wait for another year.
"One Punch Man is coming back on with season two. There's going to be another season of My Hero Academia coming shortly," Kevin Hamric said in an ICV2 interview. "Later in the year, those would be the bigger releases on the anime side."
However, fresh reports are hinting that the studio will not possibly complete production and marketing within the timeframe even for a winter release and suggested that "One Punch Man" Season 2 will only be ready for a summer 2018 or Spring 2018 release. This is because actual production of the anime started in March this year and it would take at least 6-9 months for development and another few months for post-production and marketing, Geek reported.
It has been rumored that "One Punch Man" Season 2 will introduce Saitama to his first loss. The bald and powerful hero is expected to face off with a slew of new enemies as well as returning opponents with a grudge. Among those who are expected to go against Saitama are Lord Boros from Season 1, the Monsters Association, Garou and Amai Mask. On the plus side, Saitama may find a romantic interest in the upcoming season, based on speculation.
