Girls' Generation has topped the weekly Billboard's World Albums Chart for their latest album, 'Lion Heart.'

The all-girl group's fifth album has 12 songs. Six tracks from the album have been released first on August 18 for online distribution, while the remaining six have been released on the following day.

Billboard reported on Tuesday that this is the second time that the Korean group has topped the weekly chart, making them among the K-pop artists with several No.1 hits.

'Lion Heart' is the first full-length album of the all-girl group without Jessica Jung - who has initially planned to go on hiatus for a while, but ended up leaving the group.

Sources say that Jessica has been hesitant to leave the group, ending up wanting to stay. However, the other members of Girls' Generation allegedly no longer want her in the group.

An article by Koreaboo two months ago has stated that Jessica posted on Weibo on September last year about the matter. She said, "I was excited about our upcoming fan events only to shockingly be informed by my company and 8 others that as of today, I'm no longer a member."

"I'm devastated - my priority and love is to serve as a member of GG, but for no justifiable reason, I am being forced out.."

Meanwhile, aside from topping the weekly charting on Billboard's World Albums, three of the Korean group's songs have secured spots on the World Digital Songs chart. At number 3 is 'You Think," 'Lion Heart,' at number 4 and 'Party' - on its 17th week - is on the 15th spot.

Also, behind Girls' Generation is VIXX LR who landed on the second spot for their album entitled, 'Beautiful Liar.' The sub-unit of South Korean group VXII is also making a buzz in the music industry after releasing its debut album last August 17.
