NBA Rumors: LA Lakers May Sign LeBron James, Paul George
The 2017 free agency class is ready. The team is filled with some of the all-time-best members. However, planning and preparation for the 2018 free agency class have already begun. Fans are anticipating the announcement regarding the same.
As noted by Lakers Nation, the arrival of these star performers has changed the potential of free agency period all together. In fact, the set-up for 2017-18 NBA season has become even more interesting than before. However, there are reports that also claim that teams like Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Clippers are planning on considering a long-term outlook by choosing to close down the championship window. Moreover, when it comes to Los Angeles Clippers, they already have Blake Griffin and Chris Paul to deal with.
Despite the given situation, they are looking towards the 2018 free agency class nonetheless. When one goes to see, it is quite interesting how The Clippers have been playing all along. At first, they seemed ardent on signing up James and Paul as the core members of their team. Following which, they had their eyes set on Jerry West to be the central figure of their team. It is not known how far this is true but Mike Wise of The Undefeated offered some clarification on the on-going rumor. He reportedly said that he got a very good authority (which he repeated twice) that suggests that LeBron James is not considering being a part of Clipper. When asked about where he got this information from, he stated that he can't say who told him but added by saying that somebody very close to the matter stated this.
This could potentially turn out to be true because there were several rumors circulating online recently that suggested that LeBron James is actually considering moving to Los Angeles altogether. The star player currently has a year left with the Cavaliers and his rumored destination is apparently the Los Angeles Lakers. Meanwhile, even if Cavaliers is considering resigning LeBron James back onto the team, they might have to face disappointment as the player is planning on moving on. Coming back to The Lakers, experts feel that the best for the team would essentially be a move that ensures the acquirement of Paul George. This could probably open up chances of LeBron James coming to the team as well.
