NBA News: Golden State Warriors May Lose Andre Iguodala
There are a lot of free agents that the Golden State Warriors has the option to choose from. In fact, recent reports have suggested that the team is on a look-out for a host for themselves as well. They would have considered Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry; however, the two members are already committed. A recent online report stated that both the members recently re-signed with Golden State Warriors' defending champions.
Another report by ESPN stated that the Golden State Warriors were considering taking on Andre Iguodala as well. The report, while citing sources close to the matter, further stated that 2015 MBA Finals MVP, Andre Iguodala is also among the star performer who is greatly scouted for by a majority of the NBA teams. These teams include Minnesota Timberwolves, Los Angeles Clippers, San Antonio Spurs, Utah Jazz, Philadelphia 76ers, Orlando Magic and Brooklyn Nets among others. While media publications tried getting in touch with Iguodala's agency, there hasn't been any official response from his side as yet.
Therefore, fans are still in a blank state as to whether Iguodala truly plans on taking any meetings with any of the teams interested in buying him off. The main reason why all the teams are so bound on getting Iguodala on board is that it seems like they all greatly admire the services he has to offer. Moreover, the team heads believe that in order to combat the defending NBA champions, a true legend who is already experienced in this field will be required. The report further went on to state that even Spurs is going to consider approaching Iguodala apart from Clippers point guard Chris Paul. In fact, Spurs has even showcased significant amount of interest in LaMarcus Aldridge and guard Danny Green.
At the same time, there are several reports that suggest that the chances of Warriors re-signing Iguodala are higher. The first and most obvious reason is that Iguodala has spent a lot of time with the team. Moreover, given that Warriors has already made a team-friendly deal with Curry and Durant, Iguodala will certainly have an easy way through. However, if Iguodala decides to go ahead with another team apart from Warriors then it will be a grave loss for the latter. Despite having the best of all worlds, i.e. the world champion members including Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant among others, a key piece will be missing if Andre Iguodala decides to leave the team.
