BIG BANG's T.O.P has been sentenced to a 10-month suspended prison term by the Seoul Central District Court after he was found guilty of the use of marijuana. However, the BIG BANG rapper will not have to go to jail if he complies with the terms of a two-year probation recommended by the prosecutors' office.

According to Koreaboo, T.O.P. admitted to charges lodged against him by the prosecutors' office in terms of using the illegal substance. He also used his court appearance to apologize for his wrongdoing and particularly addressed his mother in his apology.

BIG BANG's T.O.P. said that he had been suffering from depression and his act of taking drugs all happened in a span of one week. He said that because he cannot turn back the time to redress his foolish decision in his moment of weakness, he is willing to subject himself to the punishment that the court will impose on him.

"This incident is the worst moment of my life and I am regretting it terribly,"T.O.P. said. "I will receive my punishment readily and make sure that nothing like this ever happens again."

During the trial, T.O.P's lawyer indirectly confirmed that Han Seo Hee, the female trainee involved in T.O.P's marijuana case, and the rapper were seeing each other at the time of the incident and were intoxicated when they took marijuana. The lawyer said that T.O.P. stopped taking the drug when he and the trainee broke up, Soompi reported.

Han Seo Hee has already been sentenced by the court to four years of probation, 120 hours of rehab and 870,000 won in penalties when she went to her trial several weeks ago. She faces jail time of three years if she violates the terms of her probation. While it was noted during her trial that the trainee was a repeat offender,  it was T.O.P's first time to be involved in a drug scandal, Korea Portal reported.
