BLACKPINK Breaks BTS' Record, Achieves Fastest Time To 10 Million Views!
BLACKPINK's comeback is making waves in a big way! The YG-Entertainment managed K-pop girl group blew current recent viewing records as it beat BTS for the quickest time to reach 10 million views.
According to a report by SBS Pop Asia, BLACKPINK's comeback track "As If It's Your Last" managed to reach 10 million views for their MV in only 17 hours. The record is four hours shorter than BTS' record for "Not Today" which achieved 10 million views in 21 hours.
It can be recalled that it was a back and forth between BTS and TWICE in reaching this youtube milestone when BTS' "Spring Day" reached the quickest time to 10 million views. TWICE took the record with their track "Knock Knock" but BTS quickly regained the record with "Not Today." Now, BLACKPINK's latest track is proving that the comeback is in serious contention against the steep competition in the K-pop market.
In a recent interview, BLACKPINK admitted that they feel immense pressure in living up to the standards set by labelmates 2NE1 and BIG BANG. The girls admitted that they feel the need to pick up the momentum for the label now that 2NE1 has disbanded and BIG BANG is on hiatus as a five-member group because of the members' upcoming enlistment.
BLACKPINK's Jennie said that for their comeback, they want to establish not only their music to the public but also introduce themselves as individuals which they haven't done before. She said that they are also making sure that they are always training to give their best performance every time for their fans, Soompi reported.
"Through 'Like It's Your Last,' we hope more people will start to believe in us," BLACKPINK's Jennie said. "Because we're still rookies, we don't have a big picture dream just yet. It would be nice if we become more easily recognized by the public," she said.
