I.O.I Kim Chung Ha Reveals Her Role Models As She Kicks Off Comeback
Former I.O.I member Kim Chung Ha continues to showcase her talent as she comes backs with a new single since debuting as a solo artist. While preparing to release her new track, the young artist went on various shows to promote her comeback. In one of the interviews, she revealed the artists she looked up to.
Kim Chung Ha sat down with TV Report recently for a one on one interview. She released her first mini album titled “Hands On Me” and will be performing the album’s title track “Why Don’t You Know” during her comeback promotions. Chung Ha talked about her first mini album on the said interview and explained that the title track is actually a dance song. The song was released on June 7 coupled with a music video and it turned out to be a catchy tune with great choreography. She revealed that she personally created some of the dance choreography of the song.
Even when she was competing in the first season of Mnet’s reality competition show, “Produce 101”, Chung Ha already wowed fans and judges with her unparalleled talent when it comes to singing and dancing. She eventually emerged as one of the winners and made her official debut as a member of the now-disbanded girl group, I.O.I. Even when she was in the said group, she still displayed a great side of her talents.
However, she revealed that she wasn’t exactly able to reveal her strong side while promoting with I.O.I. Chung Ha emphasized that she will be showcasing a new and refreshing side of herself in her comeback. Having debuted as a solo artist, Chung Ha revealed that she looked up to veteran artists BoA and Lee Hyori, who also debuted as solo artists at a young age and have made countless songs that remain popular to this day. BoA and Lee Hyori are also famous for their great vocals paired with powerful dance routines.
With them as her role models, Chung Ha pointed out though that as an artist, she doesn’t want to deliver a stage that’ll simply attract people. Chung Ha said she that she was confident when it comes to dancing. She further revealed that even before she started to prep up to become a singer, she was already a great dancer.
