‘Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon’ Release Date & News: Not Coming To The Nintendo Switch; 3DS Owners Rejoice
Nintendo Switch owners were hyped upon the speculations of Nintendo releasing an updated version the hit "Pokemon Sun and Moon" game, that was released for the Nintendo 3DS last year. However, it seems that Nintendo has some other plans in mind.
In a report by Kotaku, "Pokemon Sun and Moon" developers Game Freak has confirmed that the new version of the 2016 smash hit Pokemon game, "Pokemon Ultra Sun and ultra Moon" would only release for the Nintendo 3DS. This contradicts the rumors that we've been hearing for weeks now that a mainline Pokemon game would be released for the Nintendo Switch sooner, rather than later.
Despite Game Freak and Nintendo's confirmation, fans were still hoping for a certain turn of events. The reason for this? "Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon" was spotted on The Pokemon Company's official press site, as one of Nintendo's current list of consoles who'll be compatible with the game.
Nintendo was quick to clarify the situation to avoid any further confusions with the fans of "Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon." According to a report by Venture Beat, its was just a clerical error on the part of The Pokemon Company's press site and made it clear that "Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon" are coming exclusively to the Nintendo 3DS. "This listing on the Pokémon press site was made in error and is not indicative of future plans. Please refer to the Pokémon Direct for more game details."
On a lighter note, "Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon" now has a specific release date on November 17 of this year. While for the Nintendo Switch owners, you'd still be able to get your Pokemon fix with "Pokken Tournament DX" by September 22.
