US Magazines Praise BTS Jungkook & Jimin’s Cover Of ‘We Don’t Talk Anymore’
Recently, Jungkook and Jimin released a duet cover of the hit song 'We Don't Talk Anymore' for this year's BTS FESTA. BTS FESTA is an annual event that BTS holds every year to celebrate their anniversary. The members release special content for their fans including songs, videos, photos and much more in the weeks leading up to their anniversary date.
Jungkook initially covered the song earlier this year, but only sang it alone. This time, he was joined by Jimin for the duet version and called it 'We Don't Talk Anymore Pt.2'. BTS fans were ecstatic upon its release and the audio was spread online like wildfire. But the hype wasn't only exclusive to BTS fans as US magazines also raved about the song cover. Popular US magazines such as Elle and Hollywood Life praised the BTS members' rendition of the Charlie Puth and Selena Gomez hit.
Elle raved about the combination of Jungkook and Jimin's vocals, saying, "Jungkook covered the song solo earlier this year, but the addition of Jimin makes it that much more dreamy," and further added, "Selena Gomez, you've got two worthy men to sing with should there ever arise the opportunity..." Meanwhile, Hollywood Life went as far as claiming that the BTS cover is better than the original. They commented, "Jimin and Jungkook of BTS have released a full cover of 'We Don't Talk Anymore,' and fans are voting Charlie Puth off the island. Hear the K-popstars take on the track - with Jimin singing Selena Gomez's parts - and tell us it doesn't beat the original!" Hollywood Life added, "The next question, obviously, is this: when will Charlie Puth fly to Seoul to collaborate with the guys? This is a thing that we need."
The Charlie Puth and Selena Gomez track earned the 9th spot on Billboard's Hot 100 when it was released last year, but now that Jungkook and Jimin released their own version, the song is garnering even more attention. Last February, Jungkook's solo rendition of 'We Don't Talk Anymore' was released and has now accumulated 4 million views.
