Google Pixel 3 To Be Manufactured By LG
Search giant Google took the wraps off its Pixel, Pixel XL smartphones sometime last year, taking the market by a storm. Rumors suggest Google Pixel 3 will be made by LG. Meanwhile, Chinese company HTC also got into a two-year manufacturing deal with Google, in order to manufacture handsets for the firm. Now, according to a report published by Digitimes, it appears like HTC along with several other major smartphone makers are battling it out in order to receive the contract for manufacturing Google's 2018 flagship smartphones, the Pixel 3. This news information hails from Asia where a Chinese-language newspaper publication by the name of Commercial Times has reported that global smartphone manufacturers such as HTC, LG, TCL, and Coolpad are currently competing with each other in order to receive the order to produce Pixel smartphones.
According to a report published by BGR, LG appears to be winning the race at the moment for Pixel 3. It is widely believed that Google is expected to deploy an order of nearly five million units to LG the coming year. However, at the same time, it is believed that HTC will essentially be in charge of manufacturing Pixel 2 units, that are scheduled to launch sometime later this year. The search giant recently confirmed that Pixel 2 smartphones are in the making and that, they are expected to launch by fall.
Google said that the Pixel 3 will continue to fall in the premium segment of smartphones and will fall in direct competition with other major companies like Apple, Samsung, and Xiaomi.
