ExtraTorrent Came Back With New Domain Name ExtraTorrent.cd After Worldwide Shut Down
ExtraTorrent has shut down completely a few days ago but now the torrent site is back with a new domain called ExtraTorrent.cd. Reports suggest that there is not much difference between both the site and it looks similar with data have been restored.
After KickAss Torrents and Torrentz.eu shuts down, ExtraTorrent also bites the dust. These three are popularly recognized as being the biggest torrent websites in the history of torrent-download platforms. This comes across as grave news as it appears that there are no chances for them to be revived.
According to a report published by India Today, the shut-down of ExtraTorrent came after a proposed extended period of downtime that was posted sometime earlier this week. When users log on to the website, they are met with a message that suggests that the website has been shut down permanently and that the website has gone offline completely. The message also reads that all the possible content provided by ExtraTorrent will be permanently erased as well. The website even posts a warning asking the users to beware of any fake ExtraTorrent websites claiming to provide a similar experience.
As also reported by Tech Worm, the message concludes by ExtraTorrent thanking all the supporters that have been loyal to the platform. The report even goes on to suggest that the CEO of ExtraTorrent, that goes by the name of SaM, confirmed the news by saying that it was high time they said goodbye to the users. He also said that he hopes to receive enough donations to ensure all the expenses are sustained as well.
According to a report published by Forbes, this isn't the first time that a major Torrent website has shut-down. Previously as well, a crack-down on Torrent websites have taken place. This has been done as a joint effort by major technology giants to ensure that the entertainment industry remains intact and that the piracy is efficiently combated. There are still many other websites that offer Torrent users the same kind of experience but it is highly doubtful that they will remain online for any longer either.
