Sweden Lists Entire Country On Airbnb

This is quite unheard of - an entire country being listed on Airbnb? That's insane! But it's true. Sweden decided that listing its entire country on popular traveler's service Airbnb will boost tourism and attract more tourists and visitors.

Sweden is trying the new platform to pique interest in travelers with the Swedish concept of "Allemansrätten," roughly translated to "freedom to roam". It stems from a Swedish law that states all the people of its land are free to roam, walk, hike and camp around the country as well as use its natural resources.

On their official site, Sweden wrote, "Allemansrätten - or the freedom to roam - is a principle protected by Swedish law that gives all people the right to be free of Swedish nature. In other words, Swedish nature isn't just a piece of land with trees and lakes and cliffs - it's a home with all the necessities and amenities that any great home should have. It's a place where you can eat berries from the ground, sleep under the stars, swim in the lakes and roam freely. To make this home available for everyone, Sweden has listed the entire country on Airbnb."

Sweden has listed several scenic locations like beaches, forests, and cliffs on the site, promoting them to sound like rooms travelers can rent. They cutely branded amenities with 'natural heating' and come with an 'infinity pool' as well. They also listed facilities like 'Bed Type' as 'Natural' and 'Bathrooms' as 'Anywhere'.

Just like any other Airbnb listing, they provided directions and maps to every location. Sweden also included a list of activities that are available to each location, as well reviews and stories from other previous visitors.

Who needs a hostel when a cliff with a panoramic view of the ocean is available on Airbnb, right? The next time you're thinking of going to Sweden, ditch the small rooms and think about going for spacious locations like a Cozy Glade in Beech Forest.
