Asus Zenfone AR To Go On Sale: Here Are The Complete Details
ASUS' Zenfone AR has long been rumored ever since it was first teased earlier this year. The ZenFone AR smartphone is now expected to hit the shelves in the US anytime soon. The Chinese company sent media invites last week, indicating that the firm is planning on launching the smartphone this summer alongside Google's Tango AR and Daydream VR.
As pointed by Gadget360, the Asus Zenfone AR will be the first smartphone in the world that will be equipped with the ability to support both, Google's AR as well as VR platforms. Google's Tango program-head Johnny Lee at the VR keynote at the Google I/O last week made an announcement thereby confirming that the Asus Zenfone AR will be going on sale on Verizon exclusively towards the end of this summer. Moreover, the device is highly likely to be sold alongside an unlocked model for those who are looking towards a complete-AR experience.
Nonetheless, the pricing and other availability details have still not reportedly shared by the companies. As far as the specifications of the Asus Zenfone AR are concerned, the smartphone is expected to pack a 5.7-inch super AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass 4 protection and will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 821 chipset. The smartphone is believed to run on Android 7.0 Nougat OS and is further expected to house 3,300mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 technology. On the camera front, the device will most probably be featuring a 23MP tricamera system with f20 lens along with an 8MP front snapper. The smartphone will come with full support for Google's AR as well as VR platforms.
