It's been months since the release of BTS's latest single 'Not Today' but just recently, the song made a sudden jump to #1 on Billboard's Twitter Top Tracks, a music chart that keeps track of songs being shared the most on Twitter.

Upon checking Billboard's website on May 15, the BTS track 'Not Today' skyrocketed to the top of this week's chart, jumping a staggering 23 spots from its previous rank the week prior. BTS was able to surpass Harry Styles' 'Sweet Creature' that came in 2nd and Niall Horan's "Slow Hands" that sat on the 3rd spot.

'Not Today' isn't the only BTS track to come back on the chart, too. 'Fire' also made a huge leap to the 4th spot this week. Aside from the social chart, the phenomenal boy group also ranked at #10 on Billboard's Artist 100 chart. This goes to show that BTS is becoming more and more popular with the American audience.

But what happened exactly? What is this sudden jump in position? Unsurprisingly, it's most probably the result of ARMYs and their amazing ability to mobilize a revolution on social media. The Billboard chart works by aggregating and tallying the number of times a song is shared or mentioned on Twitter. It must have been a PR campaign by fans to hype up BTS as they're bound to attend the 2017 Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas on May 21. If you haven't been in the loop, BTS is the only Korean pop group to be nominated for Billboard's Top Social Media Artist. They will be going against the music industry's biggest names such as Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande and Shawn Mendes.

BTS sure is on a roll these days. Aside from getting international recognition, BTS has been topping the charts for brand reputation ranking. The group has been sitting comfortably at the top for seven months now, according to Korea Reputation Center. It seems clear that we'll be seeing the name BTS on more charts this year.
