RetroN 1 HD Gaming System: Best Alternative For NES Classic Edition
The NES Classic Edition gaming system is already out of production since last month and there are a lot of fans who are unlucky to have one of these mini classic consoles. Good news, there is one similar gaming console now available in the market, the RetroN 1 HD.
The RetroN 1 HD is a mini gaming system very similar to the NES Classic Edition. This console can run almost all NES cartridges, like the cartridges from the North America, as well as those from Europe, however, the console does not play Japanese cartridges from the Famicom game console.
The new mini RetroN 1 HD gaming system cost less than the NES Classic Edition. For just $40 USD you can have this console, compared to the latter, which tagged for $60 USD price. The only disadvantage of this new console from the NES is it has no pre-installed games inside.
It may have a cheaper price, but you must have some game cartridges first to play this console. It is quite difficult to find some of these cartridges today since beside to this RetroN 1 HD, there is no other latest consoles using cartridges today. You are lucky if you have dusty stock in your basement, but if not, you should do the other way.
Other good things in this RetroN 1 HD is it has longer gamepad cable than the NES Classic Edition. It is 10 feet long, 7 feet longer than the NES gamepad. Also, this console can support the NES gamepad, good alternative if you are more comfortable using those pads.
Aside from the RetroN 1 HD, there is another mini console coming this year. The Special Nintendo Entertainment System gaming console, or SNES, is reportedly launching this Christmas season. Like the NES it has plenty of classic games included in the system.
