News reports have recently revealed that South Korean superstar IU will be holding her birthday together with her supporters not in a fancy way, but through a community service. According to a report by All KPop, IU's fans invited her to do a community service by painting murals in a traditional neighborhood in Seoul. As a response, the singer, songwriter, and actress gladly accepted the offer of her supporters and decided to give back to the community than throw a grand birthday party on May 16.

However, the star's talent management agency FAVE Entertainment denied the allegations and clarified that IU has a reserved commitment for her birthday. In an official statement released by the label as quoted by Soompi: "The report saying that IU will be joining her fans in painting the wall murals is incorrect. Unfortunately, she has an event that day, so only the fans will be participating."

The agency continued: "IU's participation was not planned from the beginning, so this news has come as a shock to her agency. She is also scheduled to appear on 'Fantastic Duo 2' on the day of her birthday (May 16). Otherwise, she has no special schedule."

Meanwhile, IU has once again claimed the top spot in the latest installment of the music program "Inkigayo" with her single "Palette" defeating the indie band Hyukoh with their contest piece "Tomboy" and WINNER with "Really Really", Soompi reports. Aside from the said artists, other KPop group including Berry Good, LOOΠΔ 1/3, MOMOLAND, LABOUM and Oh My Girl showed off their musical skills on the show.

Born as Lee Ji Eun, IU began her entertainment career in 2008 as a solo artist with her debut album "Lost and Found" under the management of LOEN Entertainment. She also appeared in several TV drama series "You're the Best", "The Producers" and "Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo".
