Microsoft has launched a new OS last week in its May 2 event in New York. The event was focused on a new Windows called Windows 10 S. The new Windows is targeting educational market and is designed for Surface Laptops to cater the needs of teachers and students.

The Microsoft event even revealed very affordable Surface Laptops which are embedded with Windows 10 S. The laptops are also designed to suit the needs of education institutes including teachers and students. The laptop will also fetch just $1,000 which is quite affordable for any students to own a laptop.

The "S" in the new Windows 10 S resembles the streamlined move taken by Microsoft and even stands for students. For building the new OS, Microsoft has selected edge as its default browse instead of Google Chrome and Bing as its default search engine instead of Google search engine. Although Bing and Edge are having several limitations, still Microsoft has decided to embed the Surface Laptop with the Edge and Bing.

On the other hand, reports from Business Insider claimed that Google just complimented Microsoft for copying its strategy for Surface Laptops. Google's Prabhakar Raghavan has stated that they are happy to see a validation of the approach which they have already taken. He further added that Chromebook is a key player in the US educational market and they are exploring more options to spread it over the world.

As reported by Forbes, Google's Chromebook is available as little as $149 which runs on Chrome OS, while the new Microsoft Surface Laptop starts at $189 which has Windows 10 S. Besides, Windows 10 S offers limitations to the students when it comes to downloading the applications. The students can only download applications from the Windows store and the other downloading process is not supported for the applications.

Although, Google is a key player in the US education market with 58% of sales, Microsoft has to opt a strong marketing strategy for getting huge attention with its Surface Laptops with Windows 10 S.
