Microsoft Surface Pro 5 Release Date & Update: Panos Panay Says 'There's No Such Thing'
Consumers are expecting the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 to launch soon to the market. They get more hope when Panos Panay revealed on social media this coming May event to be held in Shanghai.
Despite this high hope of consumers, the company seems to have a different plan regarding the Microsoft Surface Pro 5. Panos Panay, the corporate vice president for Surface, clarify the rumors in this anticipated device, saying there's no such thing as a Pro 5.
As reported by the CNET report, Panay was asked whether after almost two years since the Surface Pro 4's announcement we can expect the arrival of its successor, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5, anytime soon. Switching the spotlight to the current generation, Panay went on to say that it is ok if some consumers do not want to buy a Pro 4 at this time. Talking about current owners, he stated that he is sure of the fact that the people using a Pro 4 have a product that's going to be competitive for five years.
"You'll see that same meaningful impact when the Microsoft Surface Pro 5, or Pro Next hits the market, and that at this time, there's no such thing as a Pro 5". Panay said.
Now that we are sure no Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is coming this year, it can disappoint a lot of consumers and tech enthusiasts who are expecting the device. However, we may not see the device this time, there reports saying that the current Microsoft Surface Pro 4 tablet device is having an update probably this year.
Last week, the company released a new Surface device, the Microsoft Surface Laptop, one reason why the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 seems unlikely to happen this time. The new Surface Laptop has some upgraded specs and a new Alcantara fabric cover. You can have this device for £979 and now it is available for pre-orders.
