'Power Rangers' Movie Reboot Cast: Becky G Completes Lineup As Yellow Ranger; Other Names Confirmed!

American actress, rapper and Latin pop singer Becky Gomez - also known by the stage name Becky G. - has been announced as the Yellow Ranger and completing the main cast of "Power Rangers" movie reboot as reported by Anime News Network.

The whole month of October became a series of revelations of upcoming actors to fill the roles for the cast of "Power Rangers" movie reboot. The all-new team includes two new actors in the scene while the other two actors already have a moderate exposure within the industry.

The upcoming "Power Rangers" movie reboot cast is lead by Dacre Montgomery as Jason/Red Ranger, Ludi Lin as Zack/Black Ranger, Naomi Scott as Kimberly/Pink Ranger and RJ Cyler as Billy/Blue Ranger. Becky G. completes the team as Trini/Yellow Ranger.

The role of Trini Kwan - aka Yellow Ranger - was originally played by Vietnamese-born American actress Thuy Trang. Sadly, the actress died in a car accident on Sept. 3, 2001. She was 27.

Becky G - born Rebecca Marie Gomez in real life - already had a moderate exposure to acting and music scene. She rose to fame in 2011 by posting videos of herself singing remixes of various pop songs. She recently appeared in TV series "Empire" as Hakeem's ex-flame Valentina Galindo according to her profile in IMDB.

Meanwhile, the upcoming 24th season of "Power Rangers" series is slated to premiere in Netflix effective 2017, as the partnership between Saban Brands and Nickelodeon as well as with Bandai America will expire in 2016 according to Collider.

The 24th season of the show will be based on Japanese Super Sentai series "Shuriken Sentai Ninninger," and it will be called "Power Rangers Shuriken." The former was produced by Toei and premiered in Japan on February this year. The said series is still ongoing with a total of 36 episodes to date.

The upcoming "Power Rangers" movie reboot is produced by Lionsgate and will premiere on Jan. 13, 2017.
