Microsoft Surface Book 2 fans may be disappointed with some recent news. An insider from the tech giant claims that the much awaited laptop is unlikely to make its appearance soon. While the Redmond-based company is nowhere close to releasing the device in the near future, it seems to shift the attention on what it will offer in the Surface Book series.

Microsoft Surface Book 2 May Come With A Clamshell Design

Microsoft Surface Book 2 is believed to have a clamshell design instead of the current two-in-one design. Reports claim that this is part of an effort to control the manufacturing cost of the laptop.

That said, Microsoft Surface Book 2 may not be used as a tablet, a feature most fans have adored. In fact, some tech enthusiasts had also hoped that Microsoft Surface Book 2 will be designed with an enhanced hinge to make the collapse of the laptop into a tablet become totally flawless, which is totally different from the current gen of Surface Books.

Microsoft Surface Book 2 could also outperform the highly praised Google Chromebooks. It should be noted, however, that Microsoft has formed much of its plans in making a better Windows Cloud, which can be used by the popular software maker to outdo the Chromebooks, Deccan Chronicle reported.

May 2 Will Unlikely Witness The Unveiling Of Microsoft Surface Book 2

Microsoft holds a May 2 event that is focused on education, with some announcements on the new hardware and software solutions that are aimed at students. However, the tech firm is unlikely to launch the highly awaited Microsoft Surface Book 2. Nevertheless, the company has more than the said event in store this spring, as Microsoft Build is set to hold a developer's conference from May 10 to 12 in Seattle,  DNA India reported.
