On "XCOM 2" news today, the game developer of "XCOM 2" discusses what "Dark Events" is all about and how it will change the game in unpredictable ways, according to PC Gamer.

"XCOM 2" was delayed a few months back due to what Firaxis, game developer of the "XCOM" series, decided. The game developer wanted more time to put in more features and make it more stable. Since then, there had been some news about the game.

Today, Firaxis explains what the new event was all about. "Dark Events" is described as "enemy black ops projects" in a trailer. The event is all about "counter-operations" done by Advent. Advent is the human organization that has joined hands with the alien invaders in the alt-universe "XCOM", according to sources. This will start when your team begins gaining some territory and this will have an impact in the game.

There will be two new enemies to fight against in the game too, according to Shack News. Two new characters will join which are the Advent Shieldbearer and the Archon. The Shieldbearer is a type of a tank that has a bulky set of armor. He has a special ability that lets him shield him and his team within a radius.

The second enemy is the Archon which has a beam staff as its primary weapon. When hit, the Archon flies directly at units for damage. It has an ability that lets them fly above the battlefield and target multiple units.

Also on "XCOM 2" news is the mod support that Firaxis is allowing. Not only will the team let fans use mod support, but they will also offer them a lot of tools to try out. The game developer will hand the gamers an entire toolbox to help out the support of creation of mods, according to iDigitalTimes.
