HTC's next flagship, the U 11 (because of why not) is due to be announced on May 16, and lately, the phone has appeared on GeekBench.

Exactly one month before, HTC U 11 appeared on benchmark site AnTuTu. Now, the company's next flagship phone has made the trek to Geekbench.

The listing for the HTC CBP that is exactly what the device was called on AnTuTu, confirms the specs found on the latter's website. The listed specs of HTC U 11 include the use of Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 835 chipset. For the test, the octa-core CPUs were seen running at a throttled clock speed of 1.9GHz, as reported by Phone Arena.

The Geekbench listing also revealed that the HTC U 11 will carry 4GB of RAM and has Android 7.1.1 Nougat pre-installed. The HTC U 11 scored 1912 on the single-core test and 6137 on the multi-core test. The upcoming HTC flagship will be released on May 16th. It should be noted that not many devices feature the Snapdragon 835 yet, and HTC still has a chance to launch an impressive device, if it gets the other features right.

Two weeks ago, we have got our first look at the HTC U 11 that is expected to sport a feature called Edge Sense. This will allow users to squeeze the sides of the HTC U 11 to reveal certain applications on the handsets' touch sensitive edges.

Other rumored specs of HTC U 11 include a 5.5-inch display with a 1440 x 2560 resolution. The smartphone is tipped to have 64GB of internal storage and the HTC U 11 could hit the marketplace with a 12MP rear-facing camera and a 16MP selfie snapper. Considering that HTC just shoehorned a 4000mAh battery into the mid-range HTC One X10, maybe we will see a large capacity battery inside the HTC U 11.

The Taoyuan, Taiwan-based Company is said to offer the HTC U 11 in Black, White, Silver, Blue, and Red colors, industry sources revealed earlier this year to the Android Headlines. More information about HTC's forthcoming Android flagship is likely to follow soon as its official launch draws closer.
