'Produce 101' Season 2 Contestants

The boys of Produce 101 Season 2 did amazing covers of today's hottest K-pop boy group hits on the latest episode of the hit reality show. The April 28 broadcast of the show continued where they left off last week, where the boys were divided into 16 groups to cover popular hits by top K-pop boy groups.

In the previous Produce 101 episode, the first groups to perform were tasked to cover 2PM's "10 Points out of 10 Points" and EXO's "Call Me Baby". This week, we get to see the teams battle it out in Episode 4 with more performances such as SHINee's "Replay", Super Junior's "Sorry Sorry", BTS's "Boy In Luv", INFINITE's "Be Mine", BEAST's "Shock", and Seventeen's "Mansae".

The winning performances of the first group battle are Group 1 for "Replay", Group 2 for "Sorry Sorry", Group 1 for "Boy In Luv", Group 2 for "Be Mine", Group 2 for "Shock", and Group 1 for "Mansae".

While everybody expected the new 'Avengers' group to take the win for the on-site scoring, it was actually Group 1 of the "Mansae" teams (Park Woo Dam, Joo Won Tak, Kim Yeon Guk, Woo Jin Young, Kim Tae Dong) who came out as the victors of the latest voting. The rankings were determined by the audience who watched the Produce 101 performances live. The winning team gets to perform their cover on the next episode of MCountdown.

Viewers of Produce 101 didn't expect for the underdogs to rise so suddenly in Episode 4, including unforeseen winner Park Woo Dam, who nailed the crazy high notes of Seventeen's "Mansae". The hidden gem didn't go unnoticed after he snagged the #1 rank in the onsite voting, beating out Season 2 favorites Park Ji Hoon and Lee Dae Hwi.

Park Woo Dam commented on his sudden skyrocket to the top rank, saying "I thought people would only like good-looking trainees, but thank you." The vocalist was shown being on the verge of tears after learning he earned the most votes among the Produce 101 contestants. There have already been a few surprises and we're still on Episode 4. This goes to show that a lot can still happen this season.

According to Nielsen Korea, the latest episode reached a new high in ratings. Produce 101 Season 2 Episode 4 garnered an average viewer rating of 2.392% nationwide, reaching a peak of 2.8% when the "Boy In Luv" teams were being shown.
