AMD Vega Release Date, Specs Update: Radeon RX Vega Will Launch Within Next Two Months, AMD Confirms
AMD confirmed recently that its Radeon RX Vega graphics card will launch within the next two months. The company previously has indicated that the initial Radeon RX Vega offerings were 'expected' to ship in the second quarter of this year that means before the end of June, and just in AMD has confirmed this with a message on social media.
Till now, AMD was tight-lipped on revealing any information about Vega. This has left gamers waiting impatiently for stronger competition with Nvidia's Pascal architecture. However recently, AMD has revealed on its official Poland Facebook page that AMD Vega will arrive this quarter, as noted by Digital Trends.
AMD has yet to declare an official release date for the Vega. However, right now there is official launch date window of sorts, via AMD Poland's Facebook. On a profile picture post promoting AMD Ryzen and AMD Radeon a user asked 'when will Vega be ready?' and got the response from AMD that 'when it is ready... and it will be this quarter.' Since this quarter ends in June, so we can expect the AMD Vega to launch within the next two months, according to KitGuru.
According to Tech Radar, aside from release date, AMD has also unveiled the details about the rumored specification capabilities of Vega GPU. AMD has shown off a Vega GPU dealing with processing 8K video in Adobe Premiere Pro CC, accelerated by Vega, at the recent NAB show in Las Vegas.
As per the CompuBench results, AMD Vega will be offering competitive performance compared to the Nvidia GTX 1080 but significantly lower than the GTX 1080 Ti. Without knowing where in the AMD Vega line the tested GPU is positioned, we don't know if that's low-end, midrange, or high-end Vega performance.
