Microsoft has officially declared its May 2 Event and has sent invites for the same. Although the company has not clarified what the event is all about, the speculations are circulating that the company might launch a new hardware at the event. Here's what we know so far about the event and the much-anticipated devices Microsoft Surface Pro 5 and Surface Phone 2017.

There are high speculations that the company will launch new hardware and software at the Microsoft May event including the much awaited Microsoft Surface Pro 5 and Surface Phone 2017. According to the reports at Business Insider, the company is in no mood to update its lineup stated by a source close to Microsoft. The company is more focusing to offer Cloud-based services to the users rather than offering hardware.

As reported by Forbes, windows cloud would be a great opportunity for Microsoft to trim down the hardware requirements to offer manufacturers another product line and to bring more users towards its cloud. Besides, Windows cloud-based service launch at Microsoft May event would be a great opportunity to defeat Google's Chromebook which not only threatens the Windows users but also encourage them to user Google's cloud service. Launching Microsoft Surface Pro 4 and Surface Phone 2017 at the event will be a good chance as well.

Recently, a new variant of Windows 10 has been spotted which refers to Windows Cloud. And references of Windows cloud can also be found at the Windows 10 Creators update. It can be said that Microsoft is now moving on from its traditional office suite and Outlook to OneDrive Storage and it will be proved at Microsoft May Event along with launching Microsoft Surface Pro 5 and Surface Phone 2017.

Windows Cloud services can be easily accessible through any operating systems its rival Android and MacOS.  Apart from Microsoft Surface Pro 5 and Surface Phone 2017, previous reports have been circulated that Microsoft is working on a new surface Book laptop that would ditch its signature screen detachment feature in the favor of traditional Clamshell design.  Although the chances the company will launch new Surface Pro 5 or Surface phone at Microsoft May event are less, there are possibilities that the company could release it.

Besides, the company is also focusing on the educational market by launching few entry-level hardware. Let see if Microsoft will be successful for gathering increasing popularity for its Windows Cloud-based services and Microsoft Surface Pro 5 and Microsoft Surface Phone 2017 at the Microsoft May event.
