Sony Xperia XZ Premium News & Updates: First Smartphone to Offer TV Like Visual Experience

Sony has unveiled its latest flagship smartphone, the Xperia XZ Premium at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The successor of Xperia Z5 Premium is a plus sized device with a 5.5-inch screen. It is also a home of some premium features including a 4K HDR display, advanced camera technology, and an attractive glass design.

The Xperia XZ premium is what Sony has described as a glass loop surface. It means that the glass continues all the way around the device with metal caps on only the top and bottom. The device has embedded with a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 which supports survives 1.6-meter and should height drops on to hard, rough surface more than 80 times.

According to Mirror, Sony Xperia XZ Premium is 7.9mm thick and it is marginally thinner than its smaller siblings which were launched in September 2016. The company has done an impressive change in design by embedding all the buttons at one side of the device. There is also a fingerprint sensor built into the power button which allows the users to unlock it easily with just one touch of the thumb.

The phone has mirrored back might enable the female users to check their make-up, but it picks up fingerprints very easily. Sony is well known for its TV technology and it has adopted the latest TV technology to its upcoming device. As reported by The Verge, The Sony Xperia XS Premium will be the first smartphone in the world to features a 4K HDR display offering unmatched brightness, clarity, color, and contrast.

Sony has even partnered with Amazon Prime video to offer a selection of 4K HDR content to Sony Xperia XZ Premium customers. The device runs on Qualcomm SD 835 processor which makes it one of the first smartphone capable of Gigabit Classic LTE with download speed of up to 1Gbps. This is possible only because of the integration of SD X16 LTE modem.
