The season 1 finale of "This Is Us" got fans plotting a lot of theories on how Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) died. Most of them agree that the male protagonist died in a building on fire while trying to save Miguel's (Jon Huerta) family.

Since Ventimiglia's character always portrayed himself as the one who always saves others, "This Is Us" followers are convinced with their theory that Jack died in a house fire. Fans have been taking their predictions to Twitter and only points to one conclusion, he died while saving others.

In the season finale of "This Is Us," Jack did not save any random group of people because he was actually trying to get Miguel's wife and children out from the fire. Avid "This Is Us" followers guessed that along with Jack, Miguel's family did not also survive. This is the main reason why they are also not included in the show anymore, US Magazine reported.

If these theories could be true, it also explains why Jack's wife, Rebecca (Mandy Moore), ended up with his best friend Miguel. The publication noted that Jack, being a selfless man himself, would be more than happy to know that his best bud and the love of his life ends up with each other in the season finale of "This Is Us."

Meanwhile, the March 14 finale episode of "This Is Us" was able to bring NBC a record for topping all broadcast and cable shows as it nabbed the first spot in total viewers. After 13 years, the network received again this massive number of viewership for an in-scripted series, Deadline reported.
