Samsung Connect Home: Samsung Router Spreads Wi-Fi & Controls Smart Gadgets
Samsung has already unveiled the most anticipated Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+, and along with this handset device, the South Korean Electronics company also releases new gadgets to the public. One of these products is the Samsung Connect Home.
The company, during the Galaxy Unpacked Event held at Lincoln Center in New York, describes the Samsung Connect Home as a premium router and IoT hub in one. A new innovated router equipped with advanced technology.
The new Samsung Connect Home provides a mesh-based Wi-Fi to boost your connectivity at home, according to Pocket-lint report. With a mesh router, users can now get online anywhere in their house. No more spots and corner where connectivity is slowed or just doesn't reach. They can able to stream in any room while someone else games in the basement without any contest for bandwidth or Wi-Fi congestion.
Also, according to Engadget, the new Samsung Connect Home router is built with SmartThings hub inside and it can communicate with and control all the connected smart gadgets with a smartphone app over Bluetooth 4.1, WiFi, Zigbee or Z-wave once set up. This includes devices like Philips Hue lights, Netgear Arlo security cameras or Samsung appliances.
The design of the new Samsung Connect Home is very simple featuring the same rounded square silhouette and glossy white finish. For the performance, it offers dual-band 802.11ac at AC1300, 866Mbps speed, 512MB of RAM and 4GB of storage.
A Samsung Connect Home Pro version is also available with higher specs compared to the regular variety. It renders faster 1.7GHz dual-core chip and supports quad-band 802.11ac at a faster AC2600 1.7Gbps rate, but with the same square feet coverage.
For now, the Samsung still hasn't announced the price for the Samsung Connect Home yet. Even the exact date and schedule when it will be available to the market.
