Samsung Unveils New Galaxy S8 Phone

Samsung Electronics launched their latest Galaxy S8 smartphone this week and it comes with a lot of much-talked about features and specifications. The Korean company has been so silent about the details of the said smartphone but there have been leaked photos and features of the device and this gave inkling for the users.

Samsung unveiled Galaxy S8 last Wednesday at the New York's Lincoln Center. It has been reported that the company is seeking to redeem itself after the Galaxy Note 7 disaster which led to the recall of the phablet due to the catching fire. Samsung has been regarded as the closes rival of Apple and it is preparing for this launching.

Apart from the date of the launching, the Galaxy S8 also has significant features like the digital assistant called Bixby. Last October, the company just gained possession of the platform developer Viv Labs which has also developed Siri for Apple. According to reports, the S8 will have a Bixby button on the side and the users can just summon the AI assistant in just one press as mentioned on Korea Times.

The advantage of this button as confirmed by Samsung is that instead of taking multiple steps for a certain command and action on the smartphone, the users can just push the Bixby button for a simple verbal command.

When it comes to the design, the Galaxy S8 will also be available in two sizes which are the 5.8-inch screen and the other with a 6.2 inch display. Both devices will also feature a super AM-OLED display that uses high resolution. This smartphone also comes with a dual-edge curved display.

Another vital aspect of this S8 is that the physical home button has been removed because of the ever-diminishing bezel area. Moreover, the fingerprint sensor will also be place just next to the camera which is on the back of the device as mentioned on The Sun.

Samsung will also make use of its iris scanner on the Galaxy S8 which was also a feature of the ill-fated Galaxy Note 7. Further, there is also a report suggesting that this new smartphone will be using a facial-recognition technology.
