Sony Tablet P Could Be a Tough Contender For Samsung Foldable Phone, Here’s Why
Samsung is expected to deliver a foldable phone by the end of this year and it is quite a good time to dust the cobwebs off from the 2011's foldable table. Sony has revealed a new tablet with dual screens. Sony Tablet P has the foldable screen and each can be used individually or can be used as a single large display.
Sony Tablet P has created with an innovative design where two individual 5.5-inch displays ran independently or can be used together to form one giant screen. Each screen has HD resolution of 1024 X 480 pixels. This was the most innovative form of the tablet right now.
Sony was able to optimize certain apps on Sony Tablet P to take the advantage of the extra real estate. The users can innovatively use two screens while sending an email. The top screen displays the message while the lower screen became the QWERTY keyboard for typing message.
The dual displays made the keys larger enough to type comfortably and effectively. Besides, while reading the email, the upper display contains the message and the lower screen showed the inbox of your email account. The calendar and contacts used a two panel UI.
Although the Sonly Tablet P has the most innovative foldable design, it has certain drawbacks. The entire device looks ugly with a ¼ inch bezel which separated the two screens. The partition was not a big problem when the screens run independently. But it is a big eye-shore when using the two screens as one large display.
Sony Tablet P was powered by NVIDIA Tegra 2 chip with a dual-core 1GHz CPU. The device has 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. Besides, the device features a 5MP rear shooter camera and a VGA front camera. The tablet was priced as $399 with a two-year contract and $549 off contract as specified by PhoneArena.
