'Star Wars Episode 8 The Last Jedi': Disney CEO Slipped Details About The Sequel; Teaser Release Date Revealed
"Star Wars Episode VIII The Last Jedi" is still months away and the fandom is more than excited to see what the film installment has in store for them. To keep the hype train chugging, Disney's top boss teased fans even more about the incoming space opera featurette.
Disney CEO Bob Iger recently sat down with his wife Willow Bay who is also the dean of the Annenberg Journalism School at the University of Southern California. When the discussion turned to "The Last Jedi," Iger let the attendees to some information about the film and what they can expect from it. The big boss from the mouse's house hinted that Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) will be having a huge part in the sequel adding that the Jedi "will do a lot of talking," according to Mashable.
Such information is pretty much expected from "The Last Jedi" as it can be recalled during "The Force Awakens" that Luke was only spotted during the closing scenes of the blockbuster film. Moreover, it is logical for him to have dialogues in the forthcoming movie as the self-exiled protagonist has plenty of explaining to do.
As for the equally anticipated Han Solo film, Iger also dropped some bombs about the project. The CEO stated that the film will follow the exploits of the young Han from his teen years up to his twenties. He went on saying that the Han Solo spinoff will tell how the smuggler-turned-hero got his iconic moniker including how the Han-Chewie bromance came to be.
In other news, "Star Wars'" website has just announced the programming schedule for this year's "Star Wars Celebration." It was revealed that "The Last Jedi" teaser will be finally shown on Friday, April 14 somewhere between 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. What made even more exciting is that the much-awaited teaser will be on live stream during that day and will be presented by Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy and the film's director Rian Johnson.
"Star Wars Celebration 2017" will run from April 13 to 16 at the Orange County Center in Orlando, Florida while "Star Wars Episode VIII The Last Jedi's" release date is on December 15. Watch a video about this year's "Star Wars Celebration:"
