It has been a year since Google has announced the first preview of Android Nougat. The company has launched the first developer's version of its upcoming mobile operating system. The current codename of the upcoming version is Android O, but we are hoping that it will become Android Oreo once it will be released.

But there is a difference between the early Android N and Android O previews. For Android N Google immediately mad over the air updates of Android N's available to anyone who wanted to develop apps on its. For Android O, Google is not launching the Android Beta channel right away. Instead, the developers who have Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Pixel and Pixel XL are allowed to manually download their flash devices.

Google wanted to provide better Android Beta version for its developers. So Google wanted to open enrollment into Android O through Android Beta. The company even released a Press statement which stated that "For this release, we wanted to focus on giving developers time to test for compatibility, explore new features and send feedback which will help make Android O a great platform."

As far as the new features go, Android O is likely to be a bit of a letdown for many developers. As least for now, the users are not talking about a major UI refresh. Google also continues to tweak many of the operations system's major features.

Android O is adding a new feature called notification channels. This will enable developers to develop group notifications from their app into the groups. Users will be then able to manage those notifications based on those channels. Besides, the video apps will be able to put themselves into a picture in picture mode so that video will still pay after you switch to a different app.
